What is a wellness coach and how can one help me?

A wellness coach can help you harness the desire for physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional wellness that is already within you. If you want to live the best life possible, you must be healthy. A wellness coach can help you master the daily stresses of life that we all experience.

One of Benjamin Franklin’s life goals was to be healthy, wealthy and wise. It’s not by accident that healthy is mentioned first. Being healthy is so important to achieving your other goals that it should be a priority. If you want to wake up each morning feeling, refreshed, invigorated and ready to go, a wellness coach can help you. You can stop being jealous of the people who wake up bright-eyed and bushy-tailed and start being one of those people.

A wellness coach can help you improve your life in so many ways. You coach will work with you on:

1) nutrition, diet, and wellness topics; 2) eliminating obstacles to your success in the areas of physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional well-being; 3) weight management goals; 4) stress-reduction and subsequent stress-elimination; 5) health risk management; 6) chronic or acute sleep deprivation issues; 7) topics concerning mental clarity, alertness, focus, and concentration; 8) fatigue or any other issues that stand between you and your goals; 9) memory power; and 10) developing and maintaining an active libido.

Most of the people I know are determined to stay fit and healthy well into their senior years. Wellness is especially important to baby boomers. We don’t like to experience the symptoms of aging. We welcome anything we can to postpone it. So, wellness coaching is right up our alley.

I have a deeply personal reason to be healthy. My family, as a whole, hasn’t been a model of longevity and nutrition-rich eating. I tried to counteract that trend by being a vegetarian for a large portion of my life, but I have had more than my share of unhealthy, detrimental eating habits.

Recently, I came back from a big business conference in which I gained inspiration for several fresh business ideas. I was in heaven, until my sister called me and told me my cousin had a massive heart attack. That was a humongous wake-up call.

So, I am all about wellness now. I had resolved to make health concerns a priority, and now I am deeply motivated to do so. Without your health, you cannot implement any of your grandiose plans or desires, so we really should do everything we possibly can to stay healthy.

I fell down the stairs at my home and twisted three vertebrae in my back. I was in excruciating pain for almost three months and could not be helped by either an M.D. or a chiropractor. Although there was nothing wrong with my mind, all I could do was lie in bed and wait for my body to heal. It was a very frustrating, horrible experience, but also a transformative one. It made me realize how important it is to be healthy and how your health affects your daily routine.
